My Story

As far back as I can remember I have always loved cooking. Before I was old enough to help out in the kitchen I had a Fisher Price play kitchen, needless to say I was the only boy on he block to have one. When I was little my mother would always make the most interesting and creative meals while working a 9-5, which definitely inspired me and still does to this day. Since I was young enough to stay home alone, she would always leave highly detailed list of chores to do before she got home from work (and i sure has hell did all most of them) it always involved cooking a roast or bbq’ing something even if there was 3 feet of snow outside. This is where I learned to make the perfect roast in the crock pot or in the oven with the use of fresh herbs and spices from the garden. When I went to college I figured out how to make full course meals with a George Forman grill and an electric skillet. I quickly figured out this was a good skill to have in life when a few dormmates started a dinner club where I would cook.  My parents, friends and family have always supported my love for cooking, it is a great way for me to express myself and share great food creations and memories with the ones I love.
My favorite place to cook is over an open fire at a cottage or camping, it forces you to make the most of the supplies you have. My style of cooking is not by the book in any way, I do not like follow recipies and I use whatever I have in the fridge or in the cupboard. Feel free to use more or less of  the ingredients mentioned.  Most importantly, have fun!
